Shore House - Program Staff
Shore House is an organization dedicated to transforming the lives of those affected by mental illness. Shore House is based on the Clubhouse Model, developed by Fountain House (http://www.fountainhouse.org) and seeking ICCD accreditation (www.iccd.org). Our vibrant program offers individuals hope, the chance to move beyond their illness, and the possibility of recovery.
Shore House is a non-clinical program where adults with a mental illness give each other support as they work to rebuild their confidence, stamina, and social and vocational skills. It is a voluntary program whose participants are members, not patients or clients.
Responsibilities
- Staff use the Clubhouse environment to develop relationships so that members consider themselves valued participants in the Clubhouse community.
- Staff are given responsibility for various aspects of the work that is integral to the operation of the Clubhouse, such as:
- Coordinate and develop projects to increase member involvement
- Engage and work alongside members in carrying out responsibilities
- Manage Transitional Employment job placements
- Conduct private employer job development outreach activities to generate Transitional Employment job slots for Clubhouse members
- Provide job coaching services for members involved in all types of employment: Transitional, Supported, and Independent
- Facilitate social activities, discussion groups, and outings
- Oversee Clubhouse budget in collaboration with the Executive Director
- Conduct member recruitment activities
- Maintain accurate and confidential member records
- Compile statistics and complete data reports
- Assist the Executive Director as needed with administrative and fundraising functions
Requirements
- Licensed master’s degree in social work
- Minimum of two to five years working in rehabilitation and/or mental health services
- Attended, or willing to attend, ICCD Colleague Training
- Understand and meet contractual guidelines and statistics as required by the State of New Jersey Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS)
- Strong team player
- Strong work ethic, patience, and a willingness to work flexible hours
- Ability to work with a diverse population
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Strong computer skills
- Must have valid driver’s license and no criminal background
Additional Information
- Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and some holidays
