We are currently seeking a Manager, Corporate Strategy to work in our National Headquarters in Washington, DC.
Summary:
The Corporate and Foundation Programs unit is the central office through which high quality, consistent fundraising programs and platforms are created that reflect the organization's fundable strategic opportunities. It is also the primary office though which corporate, foundation and new market strategy is developed to maximize fundraising locally, regionally, nationally and globally. The Corporate Strategy Manager is responsible for developing and implementing corporate giving programs and strategies to meet annual corporate fundraising goals. He/She will lead a team to coordinate and expand funding for the Red Cross through corporate partnerships. This position serves as the liaison between the program unit and the Division-wide corporate fundraisers. The Manager also serves as a member of the unit's management team.
Responsibilities:
Develops corporate fundraising strategy and objectives to maximize fundraising locally, regionally, nationally and globally. Provides strategic counsel to Division-wide corporate fundraisers on top donor accounts and offers guidance to expand and enhance corporate partnerships. Develops resources and training programs, and provides support for Red Cross fundraisers regarding corporate fundraising programs and platforms. Supervises a team of professionals and serves as the technical authority on corporate fundraising programs for the organization. Identifies and implements best practices in corporate fundraising. Sets performance metrics and prepares progress and impact reports. Leads the team in execution of tactical plans for corporate program strategy and implementation like membership programs and middle market solutions as well as the delivery benefits. Reviews fundraising materials to ensure that it aligns the organization's priorities with corporate donor interest. As part of the unit's management team, encourages cross-functional collaboration, promotes a healthy and trusting environment, and fosters a commitment to the goals of the entire team.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Sales, Psychology, Business or a related field. A minimum of seven years related experience working with a nonprofit in corporate fundraising, or similar experience in a corporate environment. A minimum of three years in a supervisory capacity. Business management skills (including budgeting and finance, human resources, project and program development) are required. Experience in the strategic development of fundraising programs or planning major projects at the national level is desirable. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation and negotiation. A high degree of organizational, analytical and project management skills, including ability to anticipate risks and a creative approach to problem solving. Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, prioritize and articulate strategies and goals. Motivation, strong initiative and ability to foster collaborative teamwork. Demonstrated tact and diplomacy in difficult or sensitive situations. Strong attention to detail, creative thinking and innovative problem-solving. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is necessary and experience with a donor management system (like Raiser's Edge) is highly preferred. Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable business needs, willingness to work outside standard established business hours, and 25% of business travel are required.
