Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship - Program Director
The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), with global headquarters in New York City, is seeking a Program Director in its Philadelphia office.
Position Summary
The Program Director oversees and directs program strategy and design for NFTE’s experiential curriculum and quality youth entrepreneurship programs. This position is responsible for creating and overseeing the implementation of the NFTE program and curriculum across Greater Philadelphia. The Director needs to be teacher-centric in developing innovative ways to support teachers and their classroom needs and the NFTE curriculum.
The Program Director will be instrumental in maintaining and developing relationships with district leaders, school administrators, teachers, and local colleges and universities as well as attracting and developing relationships with new schools, networks of schools and potential partners.
This is a position for a candidate to create and design a new strategy as well as implement the NFTE programs. The position requires a lot of creativity, an entrepreneurial mindset and strategic thinking.
Responsibilities
District-wide strategy

Create the strategy for current NFTE programs and for new program recruitment and partnership development throughout Greater Philadelphia including identifying the most effective way to enter schools and reach students.

Serve as chief liaison between NFTE programs and School Districts of Greater Philadelphia and other key partners and coordinate ongoing activity to inform and engage.

Identify and design opportunities to expand the program in Greater Philadelphia.

Assist in the design of the NFTE program for Greater Philadelphia including curriculum sequencing.

Create a sales strategy to expand to new schools including supporting materials.
Teacher Professional Development and Support

Design regional support services for teachers to build their business knowledge and skills in teaching entrepreneurship experientially including ongoing professional development, classroom observations and teacher communication.

Implement teacher support to maintain a high teacher satisfaction and retention rate.

Analyze student outcomes and teacher performance and implement initiatives to improve program and teacher performance.
NFTE Program Implementation

Work with school’s administration and teachers and program staff to build program quality and consistency throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.

Ensure program outcomes are captured.

Manage the in-class business plan competitions and annual Regional Business Plan Competitions.

Design and implement a volunteer strategy to support the use of volunteers in the classroom NFTE classes. Work closely with the Executive or Development Director to design and execute volunteer initiatives with corporate partners. Build relationships with new partners who can provide and/or monitor volunteers.

Oversee and direct NFTE alumni programs including the business incubator programs and events and opportunities to showcase NFTE alumni.
General Administrative

Oversee and direct program manager(s) to help execute NFTE’s program strategy in Greater Philadelphia.

Track city-wide program data, performance and evaluation, and document qualitative and quantitative program features for reporting and development purposes.

Collaborate with headquarters and additional program offices to capture and share best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree in business, law, education or policy is preferred.
- Experience working in schools in Greater Philadelphia and/or familiarity with School District of Philadelphia is strongly preferred.
- Minimum seven to ten years experience teaching middle school or high school, working closely to develop teachers and/or principals or developing and implementing system-wide reform strategies is strongly preferred.
- People management experience is required.
- Strategic planning and implementation as well as project management experience.
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively, display strong leadership and organizational skills, and be able to manage multiple projects.
- Familiarity with CRM databases.
- Strong organizational skills and detail orientation required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with business concepts.
- Customer service orientation desirable.

The Program Director position is full-time and reports to the Executive Director. There is one direct report.
