Stephen Gaynor School - Development Assistant
The Assistant should have excellent time management skills, be comfortable with logistical coordination, and thrive in an environment requiring “all hands on deck.”
This position reports to the Director of Development and the Director of Communications.
Job responsibilities include:
Development:
- Provide office support for fundraising team and outreach events including: advance planning, invitations, programming logistics and follow-up
- Coordinate school mailings, including printing reports, labels and stuffing envelopes
- Provide administrative support for the Capital Campaign, including updating reports, preparing proposals for Committee Members, etc.
- Maintain database on ongoing basis for Annual Gaynor Fund and Capital Campaign, including:

Updating constituent/donor information for accuracy, producing reports and mailings, processing gifts, and producing stewardship letters, pledge reminders and campaign updates via Raiser's Edge

Tracking donor and prospect information for research, cultivation and stewardship

Updating gift/fund reports and/or donor information for annual reports, tax-deductible receipts and stewardship
- Work with Development Associate to process and acknowledge contributions and pledge reminders on an ongoing basis.
- Provide logistical support during Annual Gala , including developing reports, tracking ticket and table purchases, event invitation logistics/mailings and day-of coordination
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Communications:
- Support Communications Dept. with Social Media initiatives (e.g., Facebook and Twitter), including developing content
- Develop bi-weekly newsletter content, including photos and text
- Help identify and develop content for bi-annual school magazine, includes research, interviewing, writing and photographing events
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Assist with lunch coverage for Early Childhood Center
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Communications, etc.).
- A minimum of two years' experience in an administrative position, preferably in a not-for-profit Development Office
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Database and preferably, Raisers Edge
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Excellent communication skills
