RAIN (Regional AIDS Interfaith Network) - Development and Marketing Coordinator

Position Summary
The Development and Marketing Coordinator provides support to the Director of Development and Marketing, the various fundraising committees, and volunteers, and provides support to the President and CEO as needed. This position will offer support with fundraising and special events, donor relations, volunteer management, marketing, social media, IT, and grants and foundations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Fundraising and Special Events

  • Coordinate special event logistics that include volunteer recruitment and management, marketing, and public relations under the direction of the Director of Development & Marketing as needed.
  • Manage Raiser’s Edge (RAIN’s database system) which includes maintaining and updating donor, volunteer and fundraising information.
  • Assist Director of Development and Marketing in annual campaign solicitations.
  • Process donations through RAIN’s merchant account including monthly, individual, and event donations.
  • Oversee and manage all external community fundraisers.

Donor Relations

  • Acknowledge all donations made to the organization in a timely manner.
  • Develop weekly donor reports for the Director of Development & Marketing and President & CEO.
  • Coordinate with the Program & Administrative Coordinator to develop and produce end of year donor reports.
  • Maintain all individual, corporate and congregational correspondence in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Manage RAIN’s matching gift program – including confirming, processing and thanking all matching gift donors.

Volunteer Management

  • Recruit and manage the Development and Marketing Department’s volunteer program and maintain all volunteer contact information in Raiser’s Edge. This includes but not limited to, volunteer recruitment for all internal and external fundraising events.

Marketing, Social Media and Information Technology (IT)

  • Provide key support with all social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Pinetrest, as directed.
  • Provide support with email marketing and campaigns including organizing, creating, and maintaining email notifications and e-newsletter.
  • Assist the Director of Development & Marketing with technology issues including updates on email, iPads, laptops, and cell phones.

Grants and Foundations

  • Assist the Director of Development and Marketing and other staff members with grant research and preparation of grant applications.
  • Monitor outcomes and goals of current grants, confirming they are met and reported in a timely manner.

General Support

  • Maintain and update RAIN’s calendar including internal events and meeting calendar along with RAIN’s website calendar.
  • Preform other related duties as directed.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required

  1. 3+ years experience with event production or nonprofit fundraising preferred
  2. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, presentation and organization skills
  3. Successful track record of researching and writing effective grants that consistently resulted in grant awards preferred
  4. Competence in Microsoft Office software especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
  5. Well-organized, disciplined professional, with good project management skills
  6. Self-starter, willingness and ability to demonstrate initiative
  7. Passionate about RAIN's mission and work; able to communicate that passion effectively to others
  8. Ability to establish rapport and effectively interact with a variety of individuals at all levels, both external and internal
  9. Creative in use of resources, including budget and volunteer time
  10. Proven ability to enlist, maintain and develop volunteer leadership
  11. Strong reasoning skills and the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions to resolve problems
  12. Ability to effectively prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands; strong follow-up and follow-through skills to ensure completion of objectives in a timely manner.
