Greenhouse Project - Operations Manager
The Greenhouse Project is the nation’s first collaborative center for international development. The Greenhouse will advance sustainable solutions to global poverty by enabling organizations and individual entrepreneurs to share space, services and strategies. The project’s 25,000-square-foot headquarters in central Denver will house 30 organizations, 120 employees, a farmers’ market, a seed distribution center, a learning laboratory, a workshop, a business incubator, a lecture hall, exhibition and meeting space. A virtual network will link members beyond the Greenhouse walls.
The Greenhouse Project seeks an Operations Manager to prepare for the building’s opening in June 2013 and to manage the facility once it is opened. The Operations Manager will develop and implement operational systems, processes and policies to support the project’s mission. The position’s immediate duties include the following:

collect signed subleases and security deposits from tenants;

represent tenants during the renovation process;
-
assess needs for furniture, equipment and other resources;
-
secure in-kind donations;
-
negotiate contracts for telecommunications, security, janitorial and other services;
-
field requests from prospective tenants, volunteers, and other project participants.
The Operations Manager will play a significant role in the long-term planning of the Greenhouse, aiming to maximize the opportunities for collaboration among its stakeholders, the efficiency and productivity of the facility, and the overall success of the project itself. The Operations Manager will, among other responsibilities:

manage the building budget;

oversee financial systems and controls;
-
liaise with the landlord and vendors;

address tenants’ concerns;
-
facilitate shared services;
-
coordinate community events;
-
train and supervise Greenhouse volunteers;
-
staff the front desk.
Qualifications
The desired qualifications for this position include the following:
-
passion for international development;
-
at least three years’ experience in operational management;
-
background and work experience in finance, including budget development and oversight;
-
experience in facilities management, ideally with multiple tenants;
-
excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Suites;
-
excellent oral and written communication skills.
The Operations Manager will function on a part-time basis until June 2013 and then become eligible for a full-time position. Compensation commensurate with experience. Application Instructions
