Based in Los Angeles, CA, Liberty in North Korea (LiNK) is the only full-time grassroots organization in North America devoted to the North Korean human rights and humanitarian crises. The organization is committed to what many consider to be the most urgent human rights and humanitarian crisis today. LiNK provides protection and aid to North Korean refugees hiding in China and, utilizing a modern-day underground railroad through Southeast Asia, rescues refugees and helps them to reach freedom. LiNK’s global grassroots movement works to redefine public perception on North Korea, shifting attention away from the politics and onto the people, and provides a way for concerned citizens to come alongside the North Korean people and help bring about positive change. LiNK also works to develop people-focused strategies that will have the potential to promote change inside North Korea in the long term.
Position Summary
The Director of Internal Operations plays a vital role at LiNK helping to ensure the success and sustainability of the organization’s mission, business goals and vision. This position is responsible for enhancing the organization’s internal processes and infrastructure, and developing solutions and systems to sustain and grow the organization while maximizing efficiency. This position will report to the President/CEO. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned, as required.
Core Responsibilities

Responsible for the day-to-day operations, managing staff and overseeing the following areas: financial reporting and projections, HR and IT needs, development and implementation of organizational strategies, administration, management of strategic business relationships and organizational resources, and other back-office functions.

Responsible for the short term and long range planning and budget development to support strategic business plans and goals.

Works with the Executive Leadership Team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and personnel design to ensure organizational effectiveness and impact.

Oversees and ensures financial integrity within the organization and is responsible for providing regular reporting.

Oversees facilities and general operational management business planning activities.

Ensuring the organization’s good standing with regulative entities (IRS, State compliance) and being responsible for the necessary filings.

Minimum Requirement and Qualifications

Experience and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (from an accredited institution) in the field of organizational development, management, business, accounting, or other related fields.

Masters degree (from an accredited institution) in a related field, preferred.
AND
-
Minimum 3 years of supervisory/managerial experience.

Minimum of 3 years work experience in the non-profit or private sector.
