NYC Outward Bound Schools is a nonprofit organization that partners with New York City public schools to help them become places where everyone is challenged & supported to achieve at his/her highest possible levels and where academics, community and character all count. We are seeking a part-time (15-20 hours a week) Development Assistant to play a key role in supporting all aspects of our Development office, which is responsible for raising about $3M annually and raising the visibility of the organization. Specifically, the Development Assistant will manage our Raiser’s Edge donor database, produce all donor acknowledgments, and play a key role in fundraising initiatives such as our Annual Appeal and Benefit Dinner.
Reports To: Assistant Director of Development
Specific Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain Raiser’s Edge donor database including accurate and timely data entry, generation of solicitation/donor/invitation lists, and running of revenue reports

Produce all acknowledgement letters and pledge reminders; coordinate and manage other mailings as needed

Work with finance department to reconcile revenue and manage invoice payment/processing

Maintain paper and electronic files
- Support other Development Department activities as needed, including event coordination, particularly around holiday reception in December and annual Benefit Dinner in June
- Participate in and attend quarterly all staff meetings and events
Qualifications:
- 1+ year experience with Raiser’s Edge in a development office required
- Ability to accurately manage data and solve problems within a complex database with an eye for detail
- Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize tasks
- Commitment to accurate and high-quality work
- Good judgment and ability to handle confidential information
- Demonstrated customer service ethic with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a variety of constituents (staff, donors, etc.) in person, in writing, and by phone
- Commitment to our mission and organizational culture
- Four year college degree minimum or three years of related experience
