Paley Center for Media - Education Coordinator
This position works closely with the Associate Director on all aspects of the School and Family Program and has full responsibility for specific projects. This position will be part-time through the end of 2012 and then full-time with corresponding benefits starting January, 2013.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaches classes for school, and community groups as well as families both on site and via video conferencing equipment
- Develops age-appropriate curricula, pre- and post-visit materials, and resource guides for teachers
- Helps manage day to day aspects of class program including reservations, scheduling, and tracking statistics and payments
- Helps develop workshops for Teachers and Administrators
- Maintains collaborative relationships with outside organizations
REQUIREMENTS:
- Masters degree in Museum Education, Education or related field preferred
- Experience as a museum educator or classroom teacher
- Experience developing curriculum
- Familiarity with digital media
- Interest in popular culture, television history and American History
- Familiarity with New York City's public and private school systems
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work occasional weekends, and evenings
- Organized, creative and flexible self-starter able to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Excellent communication skills
