Director, Stewardship
Teach For All
Washington, DC
Teach For All - Director, Stewardship
The Director of Stewardship is responsible for maintaining a diverse and influential base of existing donors, ultimately creating a cadre of champions who support Teach For All’s mission. The Director will seek to ensure that donors come to prioritize Teach For All at the top of their philanthropic efforts and feel personally connected to and energized by Teach For All’s success. This role is key to Teach For All’s ability to secure the financial resources necessary for the Teach For All network to thrive.
The Director of Stewardship's primary responsibility is managing the entire portfolio of current donors that are supporting Teach For All’s global operations toward renewed/increased support. This includes crafting renewal pitches and driving customized strategies for each donor, such as identifying opportunities to engage donors firsthand in our work through conferences, trainings, and school visits and creating meaningful touchpoints (newsletters, meetings, stories) on an ongoing basis. The Director would work closely with the Global Portfolio team to streamline Teach For All’s approach to donors, develop targeted global campaigns, manage existing multinational partnerships and strategize about the organization’s overall approach to global fundraising.
Growth Strategy and Development (GSD) Team Overview
The growth strategy and development (GSD) team is the external face of Teach For All, building high-impact relationships with prospective partners, champions and donors all over the world to ensure Teach For All’s success as we grow. This team facilitates the network’s growth – managing the pipeline of prospective partners and ensuring we have the funding base to meet our growth needs. GSD’s work is two-fold:
-
The team responds to interest from aspiring entrepreneurs seeking to adapt the Teach For All model to their countries’ contexts, managing the early stage pipeline at a pace that is responsive to local entrepreneurs’ objectives and that ensures emerging partners have taken the steps necessary to be successful in their first years of operation.
-
GSD also aims to generate enough financial resources to allow for the full realization of Teach For All’s objectives. To fuel the network’s anticipated growth, GSD seeks to raise $14.8 million in 2012 and approximately $16 million in 2013. Wherever possible, GSD also aims to generate access to financial resources for network organizations.

About Teach For All
Teach For All is a global network of independent social enterprises that promote educational opportunity by enlisting their nations’ future leaders to teach for two years in their highest-need communities and become lifelong leaders for educational excellence and equity. The network's potential is evident in the impact of its founding members, Teach For America in the United States and Teach First in the United Kingdom. Both programs have demonstrated a significant impact on student achievement outcomes and educational reform in their countries, propelling changes that have improved students’ opportunities for success, particularly for those who have been historically underserved. The early successes of new programs in other countries around the world – from Peru to Lebanon to India and China – indicate that the model can be successfully adapted to other contexts. Teach For All's mission is to expand educational opportunity internationally by
increasing and accelerating the impact of the partnering social enterprises in our network. We achieve this by providing direct support services and fostering a powerful network among the enterprises and their participants, with the goal of maximizing the organizations’ scale, impact on student achievement and alumni leadership, and organizational strength. Based on growing interest worldwide, we anticipate the network could include 50 organizations by 2015.
