Tuesday's Children - Major Gifts Officer
The Major Gifts Officer manages relationships with all past,
current and prospective major gift donors, and has the primary
responsibility for identifying, researching, cultivating, soliciting and
stewarding these contributors. In addition to personally cultivating
and soliciting prospects and donors, the major gifts officer will assist
and oversee the involvement of the board, president, and volunteers in
appropriate cultivation and solicitation activities. This individual
must work collaboratively with other development and program staff,
particularly with regard to special event management and implementation.
The major gift officer must be a highly energetic professional with a
track record of building donor relationships and closing gifts in excess
of five and six figures.
We are seeking an accomplished, articulate, mature, and
externally-focused development professional with ten years principal and
major gift fundraising experience and superior written and verbal
communications skills. The candidate will be an individual who can build
successful working relationships with high net worth individuals and
their representatives, senior officers in the foundation world, and the
organizations own program officers. The major gift officer will spend at
least 50 percent of their time cultivating contacts outside the office.
The position reports to the president.
