Invisible Children - Invisible Children

Basic Function: Manage Salesforce platform development and maintenance.

Invisible Children has been using Salesforce.com (Enterprise Edition) since 2008. Our usage now spans across nearly every department in the San Diego headquarters office as well as our program headquarters in Gulu, Uganda and Dungu, Democratic Republic of Congo. Specific applications deployed include contact activity management, HR applications processing, email marketing, customer service, donor management and processing, data management for LRACrisisTracker.com, and management of a variety of data sets for our educational and micro-economic programs in Uganda. Our usage of Salesforce.com was profiled at the 2009 and 2011 Dreamforce conferences as well as the 2012 Cloudforce conference hosted by Salesforce.com in San Francisco.

This individual will help the organization extend its usage of Salesforce.com, enhance its current applications and workflows, develop a strategy for maintaining data quality, train staff on best practices, build engaging reports and dashboards, and handle data migrations between external applications and Salesforce.com.

Operational Tasks/Responsibilities:

We are looking for a person experienced in Salesforce CRM Application Administration, Data Integration and Customization. This person will need to analyze requirements and develop technical designs and components/extensions based around the needs of programs and departments in San Diego as well as Central Africa. S/he will enforce best practices, standards and guidelines related to application development and produce detailed documentation and training to the users of the application and technologies.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage the Salesforce.com development roadmap, and identify the internal and external resources required to continue our enhancement of the platform
  • Develop new applications as required, integrate Visualforce to facilitate current processes, liaise with our web development team to project information from Salesforce on our website using Sites technology, and suggest usages of new functionality released by Salesforce.com or our AppExchange partners
  • Manage existing Salesforce.com CRM applications by developing and maintaining and customizing all functional areas: Applications, standrd objects, custom objects, record types, page layouts, user profiles, permissions, reports, dashboards, and data import and export
  • Maintain integrity of data connection between Salesforce.com and an ERP system
  • Identify SalesForce.com usage problems and craft technical / communication plans to remedy
  • Maintain workflow rules, field updates, and email alerts
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Salesforce users
  • Train new users on our Salesforce.com applications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year experience using, administrating, and/or developing Salesforce.com
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Formal Salesforce.com training or certification a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience, certifications, and training
