The Oakland Schools Foundation (OSF) is a local education fund that secures and manages resources for Oakland public schools in order to support its vision of equity: that all students have the opportunity to achieve excellence. We provide services in community outreach and marketing, grants and donor development, professional learning, and leadership, operational, and financial coaching. OSF services are designed to help schools access and manage resources to meet needs that are typically underfunded in our public schools. OSF has a team of ten staff members, and a range of consultants. In the next year, OSF will serve 40 schools, the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD), and more than 14,000 students and families.
Position Overview:
The Client Services Manager position is full-time and exempt. This position is responsible for (1) client school portfolio management; (2) coordination and project management in support of client service program and delivery; and (3) project management to support implementation of grant-funded activities that OSF manages with schools and with OUSD.
This position reports to the Associate Director and will work closely with all OSF service teams. The position responsibilities will likely evolve over time as OSF’s priorities and grant-funding change. We seek a self-motivated, client-oriented professional project manager with flexibility and creativity, whose responsibilities will include the following:
Responsibilities:
- Support strategic planning for school and district services
- Manage client service data in database
- Coordinate and manage client service program operations
- Manage portfolio of client schools with services in community outreach and resource development; provide sales, customer service, and program support to clients; maintain client data
- Support opportunities to expand existing client portfolios and to engage new clients
- Support implementation of grant-funded activities that OSF manages with schools and with OUSD
- Partner with contracted program managers, coaches, and consultants to execute school programs and services
- Secure and manage partnerships with school district departments and community-based organizations, in support of client service delivery
- Participate on client services team
- Perform other tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree of relevant area and/ or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated experience with project management and client service
- A minimum of 2 years experience working with K-12 public schools required; management and/or coaching experience with schools is highly desired
- Experience working in K-12 urban public schools highly desired
- Excellent written and oral communication; must be able to communicate articulately and sensitively with clients and co-workers
- Experience in budget development and management required
- Experience in program development and management required
- Experience in program evaluation and data analysis highly desired
- Experience in communications, fundraising, grants and/or partnership development highly desired
- High-level facility with database software; Salesforce database experience highly desired
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to organize assignments and prioritize work effectively
- Must have valid driver’s license, proof of car insurance and use of an automobile
- Demonstrate the ability to meet and maintain federal, state, local and Oakland Schools Foundation guidelines including, but not limited to, fingerprint clearance and negative TB test
Compensation:
$65,000 to $75,000 annual salary, depending on experience; exempt, full-time, plus benefits.
