Education Through Music - Development Associate
Education Through Music, Inc. (ETM) seeks a full-time Development Associate with exemplary organizational, communication, and editing skills to work within the development team while focusing on the areas of institutional support and government relations. This position reports to the Director of Development & Program Evaluation and requires coordination and collaboration with multiple staff members.
Responsibilities:
Development
-
Grant proposal research and writing (foundation, corporate and government)
-
Corresponding with government offices to schedule meetings and site visits and to submit proposals
-
Tracking gifts, maintaining donor correspondence
-
Preparing reports to funders
-
Assisting on budgets for proposals and reports
-
Providing support for fundraising events
-
Improving documentation of development procedures for use by ETM's licensed affiliate organizations
Program
-
Communicating regularly with program staff and the Evaluation Associate in order to prepare accurate proposals and reports
-
Tracking and updating partner school population demographics
Marketing/PR
-
Collaborating with Development team and other staff to create and produce communications materials (including quarterly print newsletter, e-newsletters, annual report)

Assisting with mailings
-
Updating information on website
Admin

Office duties as required.
Qualifications:
-
1-3 years of related work experience.
-
Bachelor’s degree.
-
Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to produce clear, well-organized documents. Ability to write and edit in response to guidelines (when provided), as well as to write and edit independently.

Experience in institutional donor research.
-
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn new software, such as database.

Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a collaborative environment and be a team player, as well as to take initiative.

Commitment to the mission of ETM.
Start date:September 1, 2012
Salary range (annual, U.S. $): 38,000 - 43,000
Benefits: 100% employer-covered single-person health insurance coverage/50% family coverage (~$8,600/yr); employee-funded pre-tax benefits include Guardian dental coverage, 403(b) retirement plan, transitchek, Aflac.
