Young Leadership Director Northeast Region

Summary: The Young Leadership Director is responsible for overseeing all development, event planning and political outreach for young members the New York Metropolitan area. Responsibilities include managing the membership base, developing and executing programming to recruit new members, educating activists about American and Israeli political developments as well as teaching activists how to be effective pro-Israel advocates in the political arena.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Plan and execute meetings and events including:

• An annual series of educational briefings
• Annual Fundraising Dinner for 800+ Participants
• Regularly scheduled Young Leadership Board and Committee meetings

Develop lay leadership:

• Creating a leadership path for activists
• Maintaining and developing the Young Leadership Board
• Cultivating new members
• Building strong relationships with donor base
• Educating members regarding the political process
• Coordinating recruitment for national initiatives including AIPAC’s annual Policy Conference, National Summit and Missions
• Public Speaking in small and large venues to brief leadership and prospects regarding the latest developments in Israel and on Capitol Hill

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or commensurate experience
• 3+ years’ experience in related field
• Deep passion for strengthening the U.S.-Israel relationship
• Strong background in development and event planning
• Proven track record in face-to-face solicitations
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Public speaking skills and knowledge of the New York Jewish community preferred
