SUMMARY:
We seek an experienced Grant Writer/Development Communications professional to join our dynamic organization. Our Grant Writing team supports The Jewish Agency’s network of Fundraising and Resource Development professionals. Grant Writers need to adapt to a range of donor-driven requirements, turning documents around quickly with a high degree of accuracy. We seek a professional to join our New York office; our writing team includes writers based both in New York and Israel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES (other duties may be assigned):

Writing, proofreading, editing and preparing Letters of Inquiry, Concept Papers, Proposals and Reports that are aligned with our mission and program priorities;

Working as part of a team that prepares a high volume of exceptional written materials for individual donors, private foundations and public charities, including member organizations of the Jewish Federations of North America;

Collecting and summarizing program-generated data on performance, outputs and outcomes to prepare reports to funders;

Working with Grants and Donor Management systems, relying on database skills to track critical information to keep work processes moving efficiently.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum: BA/BS degree with two years of related experience; advanced degree preferred;

Proven track record in grant writing is a plus;

Some knowledge preferred in: human services, education, Aliyah, international development and/or familiarity with the Israeli third sector;

Highly detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Ability to produce clear, well-organized documents as assigned in short time frames — an essential competency;

Experience in donor research, and/or fundraising systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, Foundation Center Library databases, etc.) is a major plus;

Team player able to work independently and collaborate with professionals, as needed, to be optimally responsive to donors and funding guidelines;

Hebrew fluency is an asset.
