Fall Associate, Grantmakers for Effective Organizations
Grantmakers for Effective Organizations is seeking a part-time fall associate for an entrepreneurial membership association in Washington, DC. This role is perfect for someone looking to get an inside view of the nonprofit sector.
Start and end dates are negotiable; 12 to 18 hours per week for approximately three months. This is a temporary position and is not benefits eligible. This position pays $13/hour.
Specific Responsibilities:

Adding, updating and developing content for GEO’s websites (Joomla platform) as directed by the communications team;

Developing talking points and central messaging based on key takeaways from GEO publications;

Supporting GEO’s internal effectiveness by updating our database with a variety of information related to publications, events, members and social media;

Supporting other initiatives as needed.
Requirements:
-
Current undergraduate student or recent graduate preferred (business administration, nonprofit management, communications or related field preferred);

Significant work or internship experience;
-
Superior attention to detail;
-
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;

Knowledge of basic HTML coding (a must);
-
Experience working with databases preferred;
-
Strong writing skills preferred;
-
Experience working with nonprofit organizations, foundations and/or membership organizations preferred;

Ability to be a self-starter and team player, especially in the context of a small, entrepreneurial organization.
