Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving and Major Gifts, the Assistant Director, Individual Giving:

Will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Conservators and Young Lions Programs;

Will grow the membership of these two important membership groups, either through moves management or solicitation of new members;

Works closely with the Director of Individual Giving to identify potential Major Gift prospects from these groups and assist with their cultivation and solicitation;

Supervises the day-to-day activities of the Conservators and Young Lions Programs and their attendant staff of five;
-
Identifies ways to grow these programs either through moves management or solicitation of new members;
-
Works in conjunction with staff to identify opportunities to upgrade donors from the Friends Program;
-
Manages the mailing calendar and help craft messaging (letters, emails, etc.);
-
Works in conjunction with the Director of Individual Giving and Major Gifts to identify major gifts prospects either within aforementioned groups, or through volunteer leadership identification;

Manages a portfolio of major gifts prospects;
-
Helps craft proposals for major gift prospects as needed;

Performs related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree;
-
At least five years' experience as a development professional;
-
Experience managing staff;
-
Experience working in a New York City cultural institution or one in a similar major metropolitan area;

Superior communication skills, particularly writing;

Must be able to work select nights for events;
-
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel;

Knowledge of Raisers Edge preferred.
