BRAC USA - Project Manager
Responsibilities
The primary project is to develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan and capital campaign for BRAC University and its new campus.
In addition, the project manager would initiate, cultivate and solicit major gifts from individuals by developing and implementing strategies to expand and sustain BRAC USA’s support from individuals for both unrestricted and restricted purposes.
Key Functions
-
Develop and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects at the major gift ($50K to $10M) level. Track relationships, correspondence and activity in organization data base (Salesforce).

Develop and maintain effective and successful relationships with major donor prospects including timely relationship management and on-going, personal stewardship.

Create a strategy that cultivates and solicits major donors including managing visits to major donors by the CEO and Chair, attending meetings as necessary, creating briefs and crafting strategy and an "ask" for each individual

Work with BRAC and BRAC University to craft fundraising priorities and the capital campaign for BRAC University
-
Create customized solicitation strategies to cultivate a pool of high-level prospects and identify and cultivate the next generation of donors uniting the strategic objectives of BRAC, BRAC University and donors’ interests.

Write and edit proposals, stewardship reports, gift acknowledgements, and other correspondence related to principal donors.

Provide strategic counsel and support to the President in her role as primary spokesperson and fundraiser for BRAC and staff for all major giving activity requiring her attention including donor engagement, gift strategies and proposal development, cultivation visits and events and follow-up communications. Accompany and assist the President on select fundraising calls.

Support and contribute to activities throughout the organization as needed
Skills/Qualifications/Experience
The candidate for Project Manager should have a deep and long-standing commitment towards social change, a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and excellent communication, stewardship, analytical, fundraising and cross-cultural collaboration and management skills. An ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of university fundraising and a combination of private sector and non-profit experience and a track-record of excellence in both the fields.

Demonstrated interest in international development and poverty alleviation

Demonstrated experience managing databases and/or constituent management systems (CMS), strong preference for familiarity with Salesforce for non-profits

Highly skilled user of technology including strong command over Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Google Apps and other presentation software.

Experience creating, implementing and analyzing donor appeals and communications
-
Bachelors degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
-
A minimum of 5 years work experience is necessary and some prior work internationally in developing countries and with universities is preferred. Prior experience working with BRAC or similar developing world organizations would be ideal. In addition candidates with experience in fields such as management consulting, fundraising, marketing or strategic/business development would be treated favorably

Candidates with prior start-up / entrepreneurial experience, especially in the social sector desirable. Prior experience in relationship cultivation, sales, fundraising, marketing and communications.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent editing skills, and the ability to break-down complex arguments and present them in a clear and succinct manner to donors, partners and other stakeholders

Experience in developing fundraising campaigns and nonprofit budgets
-
Easily integrate into BRAC’s work culture and the ability to work respectfully with other team members in the US, BRAC University in Bangladesh and, as needed, in BRAC offices around the world.

Foreign language skills a plus, especially Bangla.
