American Diabetes Association - Associate Director of Corporate Relations
The American Diabetes Association/Greater New York City Area is seeking an Associate Director of Corporate Relations to identify, solicit, secure and manage event sponsorships throughout the Greater New York City Area for our signature special events of Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes and Tour de Cure. The Associate Director of Corporate Relations will report to the Director of Corporate Relations and is responsible for expanding and strengthening corporate sponsorship dollars. Specific responsibilities will be to: maximize the corporate support of current sponsors, identify, solicit and close new sponsorship opportunities and corporate teams, develop high level volunteer executive leadership teams and chairs for our five fundraising events.
Qualifications:
This individual will have experience with executive-level volunteer recruitment and engagement, corporate sponsorship and cause marketing, and corporate employee engagement campaigns. The candidate must have the ability to cross-sell all special events. The candidate will lead by example in volunteer management, soliciting major corporate partners and sponsors and driving significant growth in revenue. The current direct financial responsibility for this individual is $250,000 overall with a goal of being a major force in growing the overall sponsorship dollars to exceed $500,000 by 2015.
- Secure a minimum of $250,000 in corporate sponsorship.
- Identify and cultivate teams/sponsors that can be expanded.
- Secure presenting sponsors for all walks and tours.
- Recruit high-level volunteers for each event Executive Committee.
- Work with each event Executive Committee to identify, cultivate and upgrade existing corporate relationships as well as target new ones.
- Work with event Associate Directors and market directors to identify and cultivate existing corporate relations and target/secure new ones.
- Write sponsorship proposals and prepare all fulfillment reports.
- Coordinate with all event Associate Directors and market directors to ensure sponsorship deliverables are met.
- Five or more years of demonstrated experience in development or sales with knowledge of corporate giving and superior writing, oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated results in developing strategic partnerships; and advanced skills in project management and budget
- S/he will provide leadership and strategic direction in designing and implementing a plan to ensure the American Diabetes Association regional office reaches its annual and strategic fundraising goals.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Five or more years of demonstrated experience in development or sales with knowledge of corporate giving and superior writing, oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated results in developing strategic partnerships; and advanced skills in project management and budget
- Experience in the Greater New York City Area.
- Bachelor's degree; advanced degree is a plus.
- Aggressive sales mentality with the ability to provide strategic leadership
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and related software.
- Able to develop a strong presence in the community through effective networking, planning and execution of fundraising strategies.
- Must be able to continually engage volunteer leadership in cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
- Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
