Sexual Assault Resource Agency (SARA) - Executive Director
The Sexual Assault Resource Agency (SARA) seeks an experienced executive director to lead the organization. Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the executive director is responsible for the overall direction, leadership, and coordination of SARA’s programs and services in the performance of its mission and supervising the administration of all agency functions. The new executive director will:

Advance the vision and strategy of the agency:
-
Facilitate development of agency strategy;

Clearly communicate the vision and strategy to others;

Provide sound fiscal and development leadership:
-
Working with the board, develop strategies to increase and diversify the agency’s revenue;

Oversee all fiscal systems to ensure financial soundness and compliance, including state and federal grant compliance;

Lead long-term fiscal and development planning;
-
Act as chief communicator:
-
Act as content expert, supporting staff and working directly with state and local policymakers;

Act as media contact for the agency;
-
Lead external communications;
-
Act as ambassador with external stakeholders;

Working with board, build marketing and communications systems for the
agency;
- Manage the organization toward accomplishment of the vision and mission:

Support strong existing leadership team so that operations and programs are managed smoothly;

Lead implementation of the strategic plan;
-
Conduct performance assessments in a manner that supports achievement of the organizational mission and goals.
Skill requirements: Professional experience with, and understanding of social justice issues, preferably sexual violence issues. Demonstrated fundraising success that includes generating new revenue. Demonstrated ability to manage a small to medium nonprofit organization. Strong leadership, fundraising, grant-writing, presentation and networking skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Sustained success in planning, organizing and implementation of strategic initiatives. Experience managing government contracts a plus.
Educational level: Bachelor’s Degree required, plus Master’s Degree or equivalent experience.
