Teach For America - Director, Training and Reporting
The Director, Training & Reporting, plays an integral role in the growth and development of Teach For America's fundraising and school placement efforts, providing ongoing and proactive partnership to ensure that all Growth, Development & Partnership (GDP) staff have the tools, knowledge and skills to operate successfully and efficiently; and maintaining accurate data, incisive data modeling, and crystal clear reporting in order to support our GDP staff's efforts to meet their fundraising and placement goals. This position requires the ability to interact with and inspire diverse groups, including national and regional staff members, and reports to the Managing Director, Data & Operations.
Scope of the Role: As the Director, Training & Reporting, you will directly impact execution across each of our regions and the organization at large, leading a team to set the vision and direction to design, develop, create, and rollout trainings, courses, resources, reports, and systems-enhancing tools to GDP staff. Your unique combination of teaching experience, intimate knowledge of regional practices and points of view, and technical knowledge (including a general facility with technology, and joy in learning it) will allow you to design the scope and curricula of critical progress reporting tools and systems training for GDP staff at Teach For America. Your passion for developing client-centered systems and training, commitment to iterative improvement, unflappable calm under pressure, and strong project-planning experience means that for you there is no disconnect between building a collaborative culture with your clients, never missing deadlines, and always exceeding expectations. You are also passionate about training and supporting others to do their best work, through the trainings and on the tools, protocols, and operational best practices developed by you, and the Data & Operations team in general.
Responsibilities:

Set short- and long-term vision and direction for the Training & Reporting sub-team of Data & Operations;

Share an active voice and opinions by sitting on the Data & Operations Leadership Team;

Manage the Training & Reporting team to design and deliver trainings and systems that ensure the ease and ongoing success of our org-wide move to Salesforce, and play a significant role in creating and executing the change management strategies associated with the shift;

Design, own, implement, and iteratively improve upon a recurring suite of dashboards and reporting tools, always customized to fit partner and client needs, to help teams intelligently track their progress to fiscal goals;

Act as a report design expert, collaborating with clients and partners to ensure that reports elegantly and compellingly provide the data the client needs (as opposed to the data the client initially says they want);

Manage the Training & Reporting team to design, project-plan, and develop the scope and sequence of systems and operations trainings (written, live, and interactive) for GDP staff at Teach For America;

Serve as a primary resource in designing, project-planning, and producing high-priority tools and reports for development staff at all levels as well as for organizational leaders;

Assess training effectiveness by building and utilizing systems to monitor and report on staff usage of present and future systems;

Develop a strong strategic understanding of the development "business" at Teach For America, and use that knowledge to proactively identify areas of possible training & systems growth;

Participate in team-wide data-integrity initiatives, collaboratively building and using tools with the Data & Operations team to ensure our data quality meets and exceeds industry standards.
Candidate Profile and Experience Prerequisites:
Skills:
-
Minimum five years of experience;
-
Experience planning and managing multiple projects at once in a high speed atmosphere;
-
Experience designing and delivering effective trainings and designing complex reports tailored to stakeholders at multiple levels;

Demonstrated ability to learn new data management and training/reporting technologies quickly.
Technical Skills:
-
Knowledge of Raiser's Edge, Sales Force or another donor database required;
-
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel required;
-
Knowledge of Cornerstone or similar LMS system preferred;
-
Experience designing Microsoft Access databases (or other related technology) preferred;
-
Knowledge of Adobe Captivate or other equivalent electronic learning tool;
-
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint; advance knowledge preferred.
