UNCF - Area Development Director
UNCF seeks an Area Development Director (ADD) to lead its Detroit, MI Area Office. The ADD is responsible for conducting comprehensive, cost- effective annual and, as needed, capital fund-raising campaigns within his/her area of operation to support the 38 UNCF institutions and serves as an ambassador for UNCF.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The ADD is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive annual fundraising action plans designed to raise unrestricted and restricted revenues, focusing on multiple fundraising segments; developing and submitting solicitation proposals for donors and prospects and designing and implementing special fundraising events, such as; walk-thons, super viewing parties, church campaigns and online giving. The ADD will identify, cultivate and solicit prospective donors; maintain and/or re-establish relationships with current or lapsed donors; establish and maintain close, direct contact with local corporations, government, community, church and civic leaders to ensure top volunteer leadership. The ADD is also responsible for managing the area office, ensuring compliance with UNCF policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university, Master's desired; with a minimum of seven to ten years of fund-raising, marketing or public relations experience. The position requires experience cultivating, recruiting and managing donor relationships; experience recruiting and managing volunteer leadership; the ability to work independently and to handle multiple, simultaneous activities and priorities.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to travel up to 25%. Must be familiar with and have established contacts in the Detroit Metro Area. Application Instructions
