Development Associate

Political Research Associates
Somerville, Massachusetts

Political Research Associates - Development Associate

Do you like people? Are you a good listener? Are you a good organizer? Do you like to make strategic connections? Do you have a passion for social justice, but also a sense of humor?

Are you up for a challenge?

Political Research Associates (www.publiceye.org) is an action research think tank that tracks and analyzes right-wing groups and campaigns on behalf of social justice groups and movements. Our work is strategic, timely, and often edgy – and is used by organizers and advocates, journalists, academics, and policy makers to inform their work and advance social justice. PRA’s work makes critical contributions to allies working on such issues as immigrant and racial justice, LGBT rights, reproductive justice, economic justice, and civil liberties. We collaborate with visionary social justice leaders behind the scenes, and publicly confront our collective opponents with hard-hitting investigations and communications campaigns.

In recent years, PRA has exposed government funding for hardline anti-Muslim bigotry, revealed the American architects of Uganda’s “Kill the Gays” bill, tracked the racialization of anti-abortion campaigns, and uncovered the Christian Right’s tactical alliance with the Tea Party – among many other contributions. Our organizing partners have used our research to isolate and undercut bigots, force federal agencies to clean house of anti-Islam personnel and training materials, select organizing targets, and bring legal action against human rights violators. We’ve got a 30-year track record as an action research leader, and a dynamic staff team retooling the organization for maximum impact in today’s political and communications landscape.
