American Red Cross - Senior Officer, Government Grants
Summary: The Government Grants Senior Officer is responsible for the
execution of the strategy for lifting government grants revenue
organization-wide by 15% annually. Annual revenue goal of $4M with
indirect responsibility for a 15% growth in field based activity. Must
have a proven track record in grant writing for multiple government
agencies on national, state and local level.
Responsibilities: Develop and execute strategy for increasing government grant
funded revenue that is directly linked to existing expenses and core
services in collaboration with key stakeholders. Identify and qualify
revenue streams for national and field based internal customers.
Coordinate internal stakeholders and lead the proposal process for
applications that are $500K plus. Provide advisory service for smaller
grants as time permits. Manage key vendor and agency relationships.
Coordinates with the Special Funds Unit responsible for compliance and
reporting. Manage and monitor budget for unit. Establish and maintain
metrics for measuring on-going activity, revenue lift and satisfaction
of internal constituents: Field and NHQ. Serve as a subject matter
expert and coordinate with internal stakeholders on government grants as
needs arise.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Management
or related field required (or equivalent years of related experience).
In addition, must possess a minimum of seven years professional
experience in and extensive knowledge of fundraising principles and
techniques in large organizations. Successful track record in
solicitation of large fund amounts. Strong leadership and management
skills, including ability to plan, prioritize and organize work and
projects to maximize team performance and meet customer expectations.
Multi-task oriented and ability to develop and implement end-to-end
processes. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and
maintain collaborative work relationships within the organization and
with external contacts. Must possess excellent verbal, written and
interpersonal communication skills. Proficient in the use of MS Office
software, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Business travel is required as well as operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable business
needs.
