LearningSpring School - Grant Researcher and Development Intern
Reporting to the Director of Development, this position is
responsible for researching and identifying grant makers suitable for
the school’s programming. The person in this position would
identify, profile, and track corporate, foundation, and government grant
opportunities. This person would also be the primary point person to
assist our constituents with identifying any individual and family
grants specific to special needs, as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- The intern should have the training and knowledge to support a
thorough understanding of the principles and best practices of grants
administration;
- During major events, the intern will be requested to assist with
various administrative tasks, as necessary;
- Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree in
Nonprofit Management, Fundraising Management, or a similar fundraising
professional certificate preferred;
- Access to research centers or online registries is a
plus. Social Media knowledge, a plus;
- Strong written and verbal skills. Ability to work
independently and as a member of a team;
- Willingness and ability to exercise judgment and
initiative and to interact with faculty, staff, and outside parties in a
professional manner;
- Discretion and confidentiality with regard to
proprietary information and family sensitivities, a must;
- Effective time management and prioritization, with
good attention to detail;
- Ability to respond to deadlines and changes in
schedules.
There is no financial compensation. School/ Professional credit
towards certifications and degrees is available. Part-time, 2 days a
week depending on workload. Applicant can work from home to research,
except for event and meeting schedules.
