Our technology platform takes large data projects for leading enterprise clients like LinkedIn and Google, and breaks them into smaller tasks called “microwork” which are completed by our workers.

We are a dynamic and growing team with a big vision - to connect the one billion people living in poverty around the world to work using technology. We need the best people to help us achieve it. We like to move fast and get things done. If you join us, you’ll be able to make an immediate impact. Samasource is supported by major corporate and philanthropic funders including eBay, Cisco, Rockefeller and Ford.

The Role: We are looking for a proactive and experienced Grant Writer who will provide grant writing support for our new and existing funding partners. Ideal candidates should have experience in writing large, multi-year grants, and be highly skilled at representing our accomplishments and initiatives to external stakeholders.

  • Write letters of intent, concept notes, proposals, and program reports to institutional and corporate donors within Samasource’s existing network;
  • Research and analyze grant-making organizations to identify potential funding sources, deadlines, and application requirements;
  • Manage internal and external relationships with the keen ability to track and collect information within tight deadlines;
  • Work with Finance on the collection of budget information for cost applications; ability to cross reference proposal narrative and cost application for accuracy;
  • Draft and edit online and offline communications such as program case studies, pitch decks, and other donor-focused correspondences.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS from a top-tier university, advanced degree a plus;
  • 4-pus years' writing successful grants for early stage technology-related nonprofits or social enterprises;
  • Ability to write concise, compelling copy to engage funders – bonus if you’ve won grants not in your area of expertise;
  • Extensive experience with proposal creating and reporting;
  • Fluency with budgets and comfortable with numbers;
  • Familiarity with traditional foundations and corporate donors a must – government and/or PRI experience a plus;
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment with multiple assignments;
  • Outgoing personality and great sense of humor;
  • A desire to change the world;
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
