  • Have at least two years’ experience with the financial administration of an IRS-certified non-profit entity, to include federal and state tax filings.
  • Have previously demonstrated the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people from widely diverse social and generational demographics.
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Have at least a basic knowledge of the NC Teachers and State Employees Retirement System and the NC State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees.

  • Have intermediate experience with Microsoft Windows, including Windows configuration, security, and maintenance.
  • Must be available for short-term travel (1 week or less) about six times per year.

Application Instructions

This will be either a three-quarter or full-time position, with a final determination to be made after interviews have been completed. The full-time salary range is $45-60k, depending upon abilities and experience. No relocation allowance. Applicants should indicate in the cover letter whether they are interested in a three-quarter or full-time position or both.

Two writing samples are required: A formal report (3-5 pages; may be redacted to obfuscate personal information) and an article that has been or could be published in a special-interest newsletter or magazine (2-3 pages).

Email the letter of application, writing samples, and resume in PDF format (no word processing files, please) by 8/30/12 to: William.Pearce@ncae.org with the subject line “Executive Director Application.”
