Since 1921, the residents in Dauphin, Cumberland and Perry counties surrounding Harrisburg have relied on the services and support of United Way of the Capital Region (UWCR). From the beginning, UWCR has been changing lives and addressing the community’s most pressing needs. As part of UWCR’s commitment to have a greater impact on solving long-term and emerging community problems, the organization focuses its efforts on increasing available financial and non-financial resources, building stronger community partnerships and providing measurable results.
Reporting to the Chairman and Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer provides strong, innovative and collaborative leadership for UWCR in developing the financial resources and in identifying and responding to community priorities in education and health and human services; creates and builds awareness of the United Way’s role in the capital region including involvement of its diverse constituencies; and maintains accountability for the overall operational and fiscal integrity of the organization with the policies set by the Board.
We seek an accomplished executive whose track record in building, leading and managing financial goals and quality measures have been highlighted by successful relationship development with a variety of constituencies. We seek an individual who understands the leadership requirements working in high-profile community environments and who will bring visionary leadership, innovation, compassion and a genuine commitment to diverse communities. The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of executive leadership in the not-for-profit, for-profit or governmental sectors. At a minimum, a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required; a graduate degree is preferred. Application Instructions
