Director of Development

Working closely with the Executive Director and President of the Board, the Director of Development will plan and manage all fundraising activities of the Winnakee Land Trust, including membership, individual giving, outreach to major donors, two or more annual fundraising events, and selected grant applications. Must be passionate about land conservation, articulate on Winnakee's mission and work, a proven fluent writer, able to design and produce exciting, polished written pieces. High level of organization necessary. Grant writing experience preferred, preferably in a related field. Responsible for fundraising through direct mail, e-mail, and personal contact; community outreach through e-mail, website, social media, press releases, newsletters, events promotion, and developing an organizational "brand"; organizational support through grant writing, cultivation of major gifts. Undergraduate degree required, as is strong computer proficiency. Ability to independently meet deadlines and solve problems is critical.

Winnakee Land Trust protects farmland and natural resources in northern Dutchess County, NY, through the use of conservation easements and owns and manages parks and trails for public use. A commitment to protecting land from inappropriate development is essential.
