Year Up - Director of National Accounts Management
Reporting to the National Director of Corporate Engagement, the Director of National Accounts Management will develop, launch and facilitate the growth of a formal Year Up National Accounts Management Program. Year Up’s Corporate Engagement & Internships team connects top corporations in need of entry level talent with college trained, high-potential urban young adults. Team members have tangible targets in developing and following up on leads, closing sales, managing client accounts and relationships, and ensuring that interns continue to perform and develop their professional skills. The National Accounts Management Program will broaden our corporate and institutional partnerships at a national level, and streamline systems and operations between national accounts and local internship teams in nine sites across the country.
The National Director will also act as the relationship lead for up to 5 national/cross-site accounts, expanding and deepening these partnerships both financially and strategically. The Director will lead the National Corporate Engagement & Internships team in identifying and assessing potential additions, extensions and/or adjustments to Year Up training curricula.
In keeping with Year Up’s values, the Director of National Accounts Management will also interact with students as a mentor, group facilitator, and advocate, participating in creating and sustaining a positive educational environment, with trust among students, faculty and site leaders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
National Accounts Management Program development:
- Develop, launch and maintain National Accounts Management (NAM) Program
- Establish and maintain strong leadership role for NAM in up to 5 major accounts
- Train and maintain local site team and national staff knowledge around NAM processes and support systems
- Train and role model NAM practices to build stronger teams across sites and ensure consistent support of each key account
- Align NAM processes with site Internship team roles and processes
- Leadership of Strategic Initiatives:
- Work with Internship, Outcomes and Academic teams on skills market analyses to identify changes or additions to the Year Up curricula across sites
- Develop and launch CIO/CTO roundtable format and agenda for local and national corporate partners
- Build a network of top CIOs/CTOs who work closely with Year Up on both internships and strategic initiatives (i.e. Outcomes research, influence, corporate philanthropy)
Year Up Cross-Site Support:
- Respond to account management support needs of local internship teams
- Respond to site direct and indirect sales support needs at the direction of the National Director, Internship Program
- Build trusted working relationships across functions and site teams
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Commitment to and passion for the mission of Year Up
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
- 10+ years of experience in business-to-business sales
- 10+ years of consultative selling experience requiring strong business acumen and an aggressive, adaptable selling style
- 5+ years of experience building and managing an array of executive relationships across complex major accounts
- Broad experience and understanding of the business uses of technology, including knowledge of key functions and job roles in a technology department/business unit
- Significant exposure to and understanding of the full array of functions/departments in a corporate enterprise
- Demonstrated ability to set direction, manage complex process and enable high-quality organizational growth
- Documented strengths in meaningful relationship building, management and growth
- Desire to work in a fluid, dynamic organization
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications suite, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with Salesforce.com desirable but not required
- Ability to lead, willingness to be led, and comfort with situational leadership
