TB Alliance - Grants Specialist
Primary responsibilities include preparation of grant reports and other documentation to existing donors and preparation of new grant proposals. Qualified candidates should possess excellent writing and computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel). The candidate must be highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable writing about science, and accustomed to working with deadlines. Experience in report-writing for Foundation and government grants is a strong plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares key correspondence with donors and potential donors
- Coordinates with research and development (R&D) staff to compile substantive information for reporting
- Drafts and edits relevant scientific and other program content for grant reports; compiles information into appropriate report formats
- Maintains reporting calendar; ensures reports are submitted in a timely manner
- Assists in generating proposals and supporting documents in response to solicitations
- Researches and identifies new government and private funding prospects; conducts donor mapping to identify priorities and potential links
- Conducts outreach with current and potential donors
- Manages web site donation program and other individual donations
- Conducts administrative follow-up with donors
- Maintains all hard copies and electronic grant files
- Other tasks and projects as assigned
PROFILE:
- Bachelors degree required
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail; ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong writer with clear and concise style; experience writing about science and/or drug development
- At least three-years of work experience
- Superior grammar, editorial and proofreading abilities; high level of attention to detail
- Computer proficiency and strong skills in Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, and Word (including complex formatting functions)
- Prior experience with grant writing and reporting for governments and foundations strongly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and work with people from different cultures and different levels of authority
- Ability to think strategically and articulate organizational and program information to varied audiences
- Ability to work in a team and individually; quick learner with ability to work under pressure
- Interest in international health
