Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School - Project Director
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School (OLMC), a nonpublic school in Asbury Park, NJ, is applying for a 21st Century Community Learning Center (21CCLC) grant to fund a robust afterschool program for both students and parents of students in grades 4 - 8. The 21CCLC grant, if awarded, will fund the after-school program and summer program for 5 years beginning in September 2012.
OLMC is now accepting applications for the position of Project Director for the 21CCLC program. The position is pending the grant award which will be announced during the summer. The Project Director will report to the school principal and will be charged with supervising the overall program, including supervising site coordinators and other teaching positions. The Project Director will also be responsible for building financial and community support for the program. The position will be for 30 hours/week and hours will be flexible, though some evening and weekend hours may be required during the year.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Director will be responsible for managing and implementing the educational program and budget described in the approved application to ensure that OLMC meets its responsibilities to the NJ Department of Education under the grant agreement in a timely manner. Additional responsibilities include:

Ensure implementation with approved application (monitor program/budget appropriately);

Complete necessary reports and submit to state;

Maintain participant files, program forms, and applicable licenses;

Develop attendance policy, calendar of activities;

Meet with key program staff, teachers, partners, collaborators, evaluator, etc. regularly;
-
Coordinate 21st CCLC advisory board meetings and ensure implementation of sustainability plan;

Supervise Site Coordinators, administrative staff and program volunteers;

Conduct program orientation for staff, parents, students, volunteers, and key program staff;

Develop and maintain health and emergency plans/files;

Attend mandated project directors’ meetings and required professional development trainings; and

Ensure compliance with evaluation requirements (data-entry into federal and state data-collection systems, PPICS and PARS21 respectively)
The Project Director will be supported by a consultant experienced with the 21CCLC program who will assist with specific areas listed above, especially those dealing with reporting to the NJDOE
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will be an energetic, goal-oriented leader with a passion for urban education, an understanding of the role family and community play in a child’s education, a sense of humor and a demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit. Additional qualifications for this position include:

Demonstrated success in personnel supervision, finance management, and creative programming

Superior oral and written communication skills

Ability to multi-task and work effectively with many constituencies

Bachelor's degree required
