Advancement Identification Specialist

Kent State University - Advancement Identification Specialist

The Advancement Identification Specialist will provide base-level information support for the Prospect Management and Research department. This position is responsible for developing and building biographical and relational information on the prospect base; as well as develop and execute audits of key fields.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or the equivalent combination of education and a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience with electronic tools, large relational databases and internet data sources is required. Requires an intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software; as well as a strong understanding of Boolean logic and the ability to develop structured queries to obtain desired results from a large volume of data.

The Institutional Advancement office has just completed the university’s Centennial Campaign, an unprecedented effort to raise substantial new resources for Kent State’s students, faculty and programs. Kent State completed its first major capital campaign in 2003, surpassing a $100-million goal by $22 million.

Kent State University has been selected as one of the 2011 “Great Colleges to Work For” by The Chronicle of Higher Education, the nation’s number one source of news and information about colleges and universities. The Chronicle’s “Great Colleges to Work For” program recognizes groups of colleges, based on their enrollment size, for specific best practices and policies. This is the second time that Kent State has made this prestigious list in the list’s four-year history.
