Position Qualifications:
Education, training, and certification:
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and significant specialized training is required.
Related experience:
Minimum of three years experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment, with a minimum of three years in the area of, grant writing, graphic design, management, fund development or institutional advancement.
Necessary skills and abilities:
Ability to coordinate as assigned, activities relating to public & legislative relations, special event planning, planned giving, gift solicitation, donor recognition, volunteer programs, grant preparation, and in-kind donations and sales. Ability to assist in the design and implementation of a complex annual giving plan and event calendar. Graphic design production ability needed from concept to print.

Position Duties:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Develop/write grant proposals, assist in the implementation and in all related reporting required

Assist in the development of contract proposals
-
Assist in the development, documentation and recommendation of the annual development plan, goals, and objectives, including identifying funding sources and forecasting proceeds
-
Assist in the development of relationships with community leaders and other influential individuals in the region, encouraging and enlisting their support for the agency
-
Assist with all fundraising efforts (annual giving and campaigns), including presenting the needs of the agency to friends, corporations, religious organizations, and philanthropic foundations in support of current operations and capital funding requirements

Design, edit and write and printed communications such as newsletters, annual reports, brochures, and mail solicitations to ensure they comply with the agency’s values and goals

Assist as assigned to proactively approach and work cooperatively with program directors, administrators, and other staff to educate and inform them regarding development programs/projects and potential funding sources

Work closely with all agency departments as assigned in developing and funding new contract proposals
-
Oversee, supervise and coordinate the activities of all development volunteers and student workers
-
Assist as assigned with research, recommendations, and overseeing the use of any development consultants
-
Host site visits with current and potential funders/donors
-
Conduct campus tours and travel to local religious and civic groups to present overview of agency, its programs and clients
-
Work with other staff and volunteers to produce special events
-
Assist in the management of the donor database
-
Assist in establishing performance objectives for the department and regularly review achievements against the targets, for improved performance
-
Keep the Director of Development informed on a weekly basis of progress of assigned work
-
Represent the department on agency committees as assigned

Other duties as assigned
