Reporting to the Deputy Vice President for Operations, the Director of Human Resources will be a hands-on, mission driven, strategic partner responsible for the management of Human Resources for the Office of Alumni and Development. The Director will possess excellent communication and relationship management skills along with the attributes necessary to lead a motivated, high-performing staff. S/he will demonstrate the ability to interact comfortably with a wide range of constituents and to establish rapport with employees at all levels. S/he will be both a team and consensus builder and an advocate for HR and the extended HR Network.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Advance degree desirable. Minimum 5-7 years’ related experience.
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in developing, administering, and evaluating human resource policies and programs. Proven HR generalist acumen - knowledge of all Human Resource functions including employment, workplace laws, compensation, employee relations, policy development, and performance management. Must be results and goal oriented individual with the stability, persistence and patience necessary to work effectively with a variety of high functioning internal and external constituents. Ability to recognize emerging trends and make recommendations for change. Must possess a high degree of personal integrity and ethics with high standards. Ability to gain credibility with diverse constituencies. Experience managing a business unit budget.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field preferred. Strong working knowledge of performance management, quality improvement, change management, strategic planning, organization assessment, leadership development, labor relations and educational and training methodologies preferred. Background in Organization Development and Organization Effectiveness strategies highly desirable. Application Instructions
