Individual Gifts Officer, Development

We are seeking an experienced and committed Individual Gifts Officer to join the agency's dynamic and fast-paced Development department. They will be responsible for helping secure $10,000 plus gifts primarily from individuals for a variety of initiatives, as well as cultivate and steward current donors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of prospects with a focus on securing gifts and pledges of $10,000 or more
• Secure meetings with potential donors to update them on HCZ's activities and prime them to consider a gift
• Communicate regularly with donors/prospects
• Engage donors and prospects at events and other venues as part of the cultivation process
• Develop cultivation and solicitaiton strategies for prospects by assessing philanthropic intent, interest in supporting HCZ and giving capacity
• Write compelling proposals and reports to seucre new commitments and upgrade existing donor commitments
• Proactively research and pursue new prospects
• Coordinate and oversee cultivation events and special projects
• Work closely with HCZ staff
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualification, Skills and Knowledge Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years fundraising experience is required
• Proven track record in prospect management and individual gift solicitation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
• Experience working with donor database software, preferably Raiser's Edge
• Time management skills and the ability to work under deadlines
• Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with a strong attention to detail
