The Child Welfare Initiative (CWI) is committed to improving long-term outcomes for children and families, building on the strengths of families, and assuring the safety, health, education, and well being of children. Through innovative partnerships with public and private entities, along with academic and community-based organizations, CWI creates new programs that better the life-long opportunities and outcomes for children impacted by the child welfare systems.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

Draft and Edit Proposals: From conception to finalization, help draft, edit and finalize the submission of grant proposals.

Supervise Grant Reports: Take the lead in coordinating and producing annual and other reports and updates to funders.

Identify Funding Prospects: Research, identify and cultivate new foundation, corporate, and government prospects; Undertake a wide range of unsolicited written and verbal inquiries to prospective funders.

Develop Database Protocol: Help develop database protocols for tracking research, contributions, potential and existing donors, cultivation and stewardship efforts, etc.

Work with Project Leaders: Develop and submit high standard concept papers and project proposals.

Special Projects: Play a key role in the planning and execution of special projects as they arise.

Possess superb writing skills. We need someone who is deeply inquisitive and strategic, a powerful and compelling writer who will be able to capture with simple language the multi-faceted work we are doing.

Be dedicated to our mission to improve the lives of children and families involved in the child welfare system.

Have proven experience in budget management.

Possess demonstrated track record in securing and managing private sector grants and donor portfolio management.
Required Educational/Professional Background
-
Hold a bachelors degree.
-
Have worked full-time for at least five years in development or a relevant field with fundraising responsibilities, no exceptions.
