Executive Director

The Iowa College Access Network (ICAN) is seeking applicants for their Executive Director position. As an independent nonprofit, ICAN empowers Iowans to achieve their educational and career goals through statewide comprehensive outreach initiatives and partnerships with schools, groups and businesses.

The Executive Director will be responsible for doing the primary fundraising and supervising a staff of 13 employees in our West Des Moines and Cedar Rapids offices. Additional responsibilities will include; communications, networking, public relations, budgeting and ensuring the successful and effective delivery of college planning services to a wide range of customers. ICAN delivers over 1,200 presentations to groups annually as well as individual one on one counseling sessions.

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelors degree in business, education, counseling or related area and proven leadership in a fundraising, business, education, financial aid or a college access environment. A demonstrated passion for higher education and a verifiable record of helping others achieve the same is preferred.

A Master’s degree is also preferred but not required. Finalist will be required to submit three professional references as well as sample presentation materials. Please go to www.icansucceed.org for a complete description of our organization.
