Museum of Jewish Heritage - Museum of Jewish Heritage

The Museum of Jewish Heritage- A Living Memorial to the Holocaust is seeking a fundraising professional to identify, cultivate and solicit gifts for annual, endowment and planned giving programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward existing donors and prospects to increase donor loyalty and financial support for the Museum
  • Develop cultivation strategies for other special fundraising initiatives and donor recognition programs as well as plan and implement such events
  • Initiate contacts with potential leadership and major gift prospects
  • Maintain effective donor, prospect and lay/staff assignment tracking systems
  • Produce a dynamic and cost effective series of major donor cultivation events, such as private exhibition tours, parlor meetings, planned giving seminars
  • Assure proper communication to inform prospects and donors of special opportunities, including openings, events, programs and activities
  • Manage and conduct prospect research
  • Move prospects in timely fashion toward solicitation and closure; acknowledge gifts appropriately
  • Contribute to the development of public relations and solicitation materials, planned giving, and other fundraising materials
  • Work closely with CDO and leadership toward support of general operations, exhibitions, public programs, education, endowment, and ongoing needs
  • Promote planned giving initiatives to increase number of planned gifts

Requirements: BA/BS in related field: minimum 5 years non-profit fundraising experience; computer skills; knowledge of Altru; knowledge of NY Jewish philanthropic community; superior communication and organization skills; ability to cultivate relationships with colleagues and donors; ability to multitask; and commitment to the Museum.
