Position Summary: To support the written communication needs of an office responsible for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individuals, foundations, corporations and other organizations towards philanthropic end. Provides expertise in communicating in written format the needs of the School of Law, as well as a sense of gratitude and the impact of philanthropy to donors and prospects. Works with School of Law leadership, faculty, and internal colleagues to create personalized communications and custom pieces. Provides leadership and guidance in the area written communication. Defines and establishes content parameters for publications and pieces including overall tone, intended audience, length and timeliness.
Qualifications/Required Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or Marketing
Required Experience: 3 years relevant experience including writing publications and/or high-profi
le stand-alone pieces.
Preferred Experience: Experience writing publication or marketing materials for a University, college, or non-profit organization.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent organization and verbal and written communication skills. Strong writing and editing skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively multi-task large scale projects. Strong client consulting skills and attention to detail. Ability to interact successfully with a diverse group of individuals. Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Working knowledge of Advance or comparable fundraising software.
