Pulmonary Hypertension Association
Silver Spring,

Pulmonary Hypertension Association - Associate Director of Medical Education
The Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) seeks an experienced CME professional to assume the new position of Associate Director of Medical Education.
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a complex and often misunderstood disease. It is chronic and debilitating. PH is currently incurable, and patients often go several years before being properly diagnosed. Over the last several years PHA has offered a robust array of online and in-person education to medical professionals who are likely to encounter PH patients. The provision of first-class medical education has become a cornerstone of PHA’s efforts to aid in the earlier diagnosis and provision of optimum care to PH patients.
The associate director will report to the Director of Medical Services. One full-time staffer, our Online Education Associate, will report to the Associate Director. The Associate Director will also oversee the work of other members of the medical services team who have CME and other medical education responsibilities.
The centerpiece of PHA’s medical education is our PHA Online University (www.PHAOnlineUniv.org). The site is currently being totally redesigned with a new technology vendor and ambitious plans to make it a vastly more useful tool. The new Associate Director’s primary responsibility will be to oversee the redesign, scheduled to be completed in July, and to ensure that it remains the “go-to” site for online medical education about pulmonary hypertension into the future.
In-person CME programming is another important component of PHA’s medical education initiative. In conjunction with a medical communications vendor, the new Associate Director will be responsible for coordinating CME and related pieces of live PH medical education programming, including our biennial International Conference (June 2012) and biennial Symposium for allied health professionals (fall 2013).
