Madison Area YMCA - Annual Fund Coordinator
The Annual Fund Coordinator will coordinate the activities of the annual support fund including special events, acting as Campaign Manager for the annual support campaign, and coordinate all related Development Department administrative and office operations.
Job responsibilities include the management of all Annual Fund Events such as the Golf and Bocce events. Organizes and executes other special events as assigned to meet financial goals.
- Develops appropriate sponsorships and incentives to secure participation for events.
- Develops and coordinates fund raising committees and task forces for events.
- Monitors and implements event budgets, spreadsheets and committees.
- Assures appropriate media coverage for events, working closely with Marketing and Communications.
- Assists with the preparation of the income and expense budget, cash flow projections including the tracking of revenues, invoicing, expense and budget adjustments
- Manage all Annual Fund online and direct mail appeals, materials and record-keeping.
- Help to monitor the operating fundraising budget as it relates to annual support, special events, and all related income and expenses.
- Coordinate and manage the Staff Appeal.
- Coordinate and manage donor receptions, cultivation and stewardship events, including the Heritage Club and Board events.
- Assist the Marketing & Communications Team with public relations and fundraising publicity including press releases, website presence, advertising and other materials.
- Prepare Financial Development data and reports as needed, and attend as required, committee, Board, and staff meetings and trainings.
- Participate as appropriate in professional development organizations such as AFP, NJ YMCA Financial Development Network, and Tri State Alliance.
- Participate in workshops and trainings.
- Responsible for acquiring the requisite skills required for all Blackbaud software in use.
- Represent the Y at community and Y events as required.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and experience with fundraising in the non-profit sector, including with fundraising programs and special events planning and delivery. Previous YMCA experience is a plus.
- Ability to work appropriately and effectively with a variety of important and high-level constituents including campaign volunteers, major gift donors, Board members, vendors and staff. Knowledge of the YMCA's position in the community.
- Able to manage donor records in order to identify and track donor support and acknowledge gifts. Raiser's Edge experience is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written skills and ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Flexibility and adaptability required with ability to work evenings and weekends prior to and during events as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point; familiar with internet navigation, research and online giving. Background check and training in child abuse prevention will be required
