The Cure is Now Corporate Giving Specialist/Grant Writer will aid the Associate Director of Development as well as the Director of Development in identifying appropriate contacts within corporations to approach in regards to corporate support, sponsorships, gifts, grants and in-kind donations. Work will consist of research, list building, direct telephone and email contact with grant makers and corporations. The incumbent will also identify suitable grants, write initial letters of inquiry and proposals with the goal of bringing in grants. Work will consist of research, writing, direct telephone and email contact with grant makers. Professional and confidential donor related database management and eventual donor support will also be required. The Corporate Giving Specialist/ Grant Writer may also be asked to work on other grassroots fundraising programs. They will also be asked to support other activities as needed.
- Experience working fundraising or sales
- Excellent communication and writing ability
- Profound attention to detail
- Customer service experience
- Mission focused
Masters degree in fundraising management
Science background or an interest in the sciences
This is a full-time position with base pay and performance based raises.
The Cure is Now is a three-year old, national, NY based, 501(c)3, not for profit organization dedicated to bridging the gap between emerging and advanced technology and medicine. The vision of The Cure is Now is to alter the field of medicine so that life-saving treatments can be produced more effectively and efficiently. The Grant Writer and Corporate Giving Specialist will be working in Yonkers, New York. Subway, bus and Metro North lines are within walking distance.
