Youth Marketing Coordinator

PETA - Youth Marketing Coordinator

Position Objective:

To manage the development and implementation of peta2's online-marketing and promotional efforts

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop content for peta2.com and PETAKids.com
  • Direct peta2's online-advertising efforts (e.g., Google, Facebook)
  • Direct the content of peta2's pages on social-networking sites (e.g., Facebook, MySpace, YouTube)
  • Track and analyze the success of peta2's and PETA Kids' Web features and social-networking sites as well as overall site traffic
  • Manage peta2's and PETA Kids' merchandise programs, including oversight of the following:
    • Creation of new products
    • Promotion of all peta2 and PETA Kids products
    • Monthly sales reports for CafePress
  • Prepare, write, and analyze the effectiveness of PETA's Youth Marketing Department's e-newsletters
  • Research current trends in youth culture (e.g., social media, music, television, movies, fashion, sports) and ensure that the content on peta2.com always reflects these trends
  • Handle the promotion of peta2 and PETA Kids Web content on youth-oriented message boards, social-networking sites, and blogs
  • Assist with the development of youth-marketing campaigns, including contests and company partnerships
  • Brainstorm new ideas for youth-marketing projects such as ads, Web features, social applications, and promotions
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:

  • College degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of marketing experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of youth culture, media, and social media
  • Proven interest in and strong working knowledge of the Internet
  • Extensive knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
  • Proven ability to conduct and apply marketing research
  • Sophisticated understanding and appreciation of creative work
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven excellent project-management, strategic thinking, and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivation with the proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organization
