STATUS: Exempt, Full-Time
U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), a nongovernmental, not-for-profit national organization dedicated to addressing the needs and rights of refugees and immigrants, is seeking a full-time Development Associate to support the growth and operations of the development department. This position will provide assistance in implementing the institutional giving plan devoted to government, foundation, and corporate grant makers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Development Associate will be responsible for crafting compelling content for winning proposals. He or she will focus primarily on technical writing and editing as well as performing prospect research and maintaining a pipeline of funding opportunities for national programs and local field offices. Position oversees the work of development interns.
REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of two years of professional experience is required in addition to a genuine interest in fundraising, knowledge of grant writing, and understanding of solicitation processes. The successful candidate will have excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and ability to organize, prioritize and work independently as well as in collaboration with others. The position requires excellent research and computer skills and familiarity using grants.gov. Experience using DonorPerfect and Convio preferred. Must have a commitment to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and displaced people.
