The Database Manager is responsible for accurately and efficiently maintaining the integrity of and managing all aspects of the organization’s Raiser’s Edge donor database as well as overseeing and implementing the fundraising components and e-Communications tools of the Blackbaud Netcommunity Spark.
The Database Manager is responsible for processing and acknowledging all donations and tracking donor information related to individuals, foundations, and corporations. Additionally, the Database Manager is responsible for developing various analytical reports, creating mailing lists and tracking appeals and statistics and providing donor prospect research. The position will also provide administrative and logistical support for fundraising and cultivation events and day to day operations of the Development Department.
Maintain the integrity of and manage all aspects of the Raiser’s Edge database and Blackbaud Netcommunity Spark
Ensure the accuracy, continuity and security of data
Provide custom queries, reporting, and data analysis
Perform gift entry and generate timely acknowledgement letters and update letter templates
Reconcile Raiser’s Edge with general bank ledger and the Finance Department
Create and execute mail and email campaigns and invitations, including creating lists, preparing data merges and fulfillment
Create design for e-blasts (e-Newsletters and e-solicitations)
Collaborate with other Legacy departments (Marketing, Communications, etc.) on e-blasts and other projects
Maintain and update a Raiser's Edge policy and procedures guide
Maintain and support web-based Development sites – MyLegacyStory.org and others, as appropriate
Identify new funding initiatives as they evolve and help to implement
Keep up-to-date on fundraising database technology trends for benefit of Department
Provide day to day administrative support for the Development Department and for fundraising events
The ideal candidate should have experience with development and ongoing administration of business processes and policies and controls for management of database systems. Demonstrated data management expertise; extensive experience in all areas of nonprofit data management including expertise in database queries, import/export and reporting functions. Exceptional organizational and data management skills. Advanced knowledge and technical expertise in all aspects of the current version of Raiser’s Edge. Legacy currently uses Blackbaud Netcommunity Spark so knowledge and experience with an eCRM is a plus. Full working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, mail merges and other standard software applications. Some knowledge of html and web design is also a plus. High level analytical skills, creative problem-solver and strategic and organized thinker. Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail with excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Th e successful candidate will be a team player, self-motivated, and able to work well under pressure while juggling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Salary range is in the low $50’s based on experience with EXCELLENT benefits.
