The University of Massachusetts Amherst Foundation has an opening for a Regional Director of Development and is seeking a highly experienced, motivated, and energetic individual to join its Development team as the campus prepares for a new comprehensive campaign.

The Regional Director of Development will be responsible for senior level fundraising, soliciting gifts/commitments of $25,000 and above through the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospects and donors, and working collaboratively with all Development staff, particularly the Directors of Development in the schools, colleges and units and the central Development managers. The position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Development and is a senior member of the Development staff.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. More than five years of demonstrated success in special gifts and/or project-based fundraising in a development program (equivalent experience in private sector sales or marketing will be considered). Proven track record of cultivating, soliciting and closing gifts of $25,000 and above. Strong administrative, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree. Experience with senior level executives. Working with a comprehensive university. Knowledge of prospect management systems and fundraising software. Management experience.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
