Faculty Position: Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track Professor in International and Comparative Education and Strategic Planning

Position: Teachers College, Columbia University is seeking a tenure track Assistant Professor of International and Comparative Education to teach and advise graduate students in its Programs in Comparative and International Education and International Educational Development.

Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities include four graduate level courses per year in the International and Comparative Education programs. Academic advisement responsibilities include working with both masters and doctoral students on thesis projects and dissertations.

Qualifications: Applicants must have an earned doctorate in international and comparative education or related discipline and be able to teach core courses in international and comparative education as well as courses in strategic planning; topics may include sector analyses, indicator research, and/or aid effectiveness in international cooperation. Applicants with professional and project experience in developing countries and who have a potential for research productivity, including success in securing external funding, will be given preference; other professional experience in international education development will also be considered. In addition, applicants should demonstrate strength in quantitative methods and have in-depth knowledge of educational statistics. Finally, the successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching and advisement.

The appointment is expected to begin in September 2013. Review of applications will begin October 15, 2012 and continue until the search is completed.
