Executive Director
Literacy Partners
New York,
New York
Literacy Partners - Executive Director
Literacy Partners was founded nearly 40 years ago with the mission of improving literacy in adult populations. Over the years, its programs have helped thousands of individuals develop their reading skills, enabling them to live more productive and economically self-sufficient lives. These programs help improve worker productivity, encourage the children of participants to learn, and ultimately improve family life. In 2006, Literacy Partners became and remains the only nationally accredited adult literacy program in New York City.
Literacy Partners’ has become the gold standard by which organizations are measured, particularly because it has focused its efforts on accountability and tracking outcomes. It is constantly pushing for and developing new programs that will create positive impacts on people’s economic lives, including financial literacy and health programs, as well as employment preparation. In 2011, Literacy Partners opened a community literacy center in Harlem, known as PUSH (Partners United in Strengthening Harlem) Literacy Zone, which will help community members overcome the obstacles that prevent them from living their lives and getting an education, including housing, immigration issues, medical care, nutrition, education, and more.
